What I most appreciate about Nick's approach to training is that he has a very holistic and comprehensive approach to fitness. Rather than focusing on singular, transient goals, Nick encourages his clients to look at how fitness and being active fits into the rest of their lives. As someone who has struggled with body image issues, this approach has drastically improved my relationship with exercise and my body. I now see exercise as a resource to manage my overall well-being and I've learned to appreciate my body for all the things that it allows me to do.
Nick is an amazing source of support beyond just fitness; he is also a great ontological coach. He is a great judge of personality and asks good questions so he can identify things that are motivating for his clients and that will help them move closer to achieving their goals. He is very mindful of triggers, stressors and hindrances that get in the way of you achieving your goals. As most of us know, it is not always easy to be "on" at all times; there are great days and then there are some not-so-great days. Nick is non-judgmental and he listens with empathy on those not-so-great days and on those great days, he is there to be your biggest cheerleader. I feel empowered to pursue not just my fitness goals but also my other life goals. He has provided wonderful guidance and mentorship. I've formed some really effective goal setting mental tools that will help me continue to be empowered in reaching my goals.
Nick is a world class trainer and it's been a truly life changing experience to train with him. With respect to personal training, Nick is on the ball. He knows his anatomy inside and out and is able to effectively correct movements and provide modifications whenever necessary so that his clients achieve the best possible results. Nick is intuitive and he knows not only when it's time to push his clients to the next level but also when he needs to scale back and reassess the programme so that it best fits his client's needs. He regularly reviewed the training programme during our sessions and updated it so that I was challenged and making continuous progress. With Nick's programming, I was able to make significant gains in strength and my body composition. This has translated to a stronger performance in activities that I enjoy outside of the gym such as hiking and biking.
